In January, 2003, the CPC was named as Technical Services Provider for the state of Tennessee by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). As part of this agreement, the CPC conducted participatory community development programs in three distressed East Tennessee Counties. The CPC held a series of workshops in Hancock, Meigs and Johnson Counties designed to help residents identify and address areas of concern.
CPC's approach in each of these distressed Appalachian Counties was largely based on our experiences in Cocke County, Tennessee. For an overview of our work in these counties, please download the following report:
